The article is written in the framework of the thesis for the functioning of life support systems during the cold period of the year. Master's thesis: "the condition of minimizing the costs of electricity and heat at the year-round functioning of the life support systems on the example of a sports and leisure centre". The article examines the main factors influencing the consumption of heat energy in the cold season. See fundamentals of thermodynamics, methods of controlling the flow of thermal energy, classification of energy efficient heating systems and classification of thermal loads acting on a serviced building. In the modern world as never before pressing issue of rational use of energy resources, including thermal, as the earth's population is growing every day, and therefore the demand for energy resources increases.
