The possible ozone depletion due to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) (Montreal Protocol) has become a very important issue and it is the urgent task to develop harmless synthetic CFC, HCFC and HFC alternatives with a zero ozone depletion potentials and small greenhouse effect potentials (Kyoto protocol). Hydrofluoroolefins (HFO) proposed as one of the perspective alternatives to HFCs. The data necessary for preliminary screening, detailed evaluation and equipment design for screw and centrifuge compressors, air cycle refrigeration, absorption heat transformations, and heat pumps on carbon dioxide are presented.
